If you re hankering after a fancy meal in one of the more famous restaurants, you d do best to call in advance, sometimes up to two months ahead in the case of one or two of the top Bay Area draws. For the middling places, making a reservation a day or two before should suffice, unless you choose a weekend montague at the gardens night.

Most US post offices are open from 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays. Stamps can be purchased montague at the gardens here, from some hotels, and from vending machines.
